Dem fanboys rejoice! The mythic Shelley Duvall (aka Dem Hunger) is back, this time with a crystalline remix of Mane Mane's "Skinfox", soon to be issued on Ian Nelson's emerging Triple You Tapes imprint. In typical Dem Hunger fashion, the 1974 remix breaks down all known elements, shuffles them in a cocktail shaker, cuts it with glistening synthetic bleeps and letting it all air out like some sweaty balls on a hot day. "We Were In Love"

Some people just don't know how to stop. How To Dress Well, whose contribution to the Friendship Bracelet 3 comp is killer, are some of those lunar zombies, unable to sleep for fear of missing something; a feeling, an idea, a nightmare, sex. Conjuring post-midnight fantasy scapes, the act recently dropped ANOTHER pair of EPs, which makes for a total of 6 in the last 6 months. Intense. Of the two new EPs, ∆ born bodies ∆ is How to Dress Well hitting the depths of steel cisterns, while mimicking some JT level future sex. The second EP is another collaboration between How to Dress Well & cokc dokc titled ∆ five souls ∆. I'm not really sure if those triangles are supposed to surround both titles but, either way, they totally make sense, in some symbiotic way. "And Make Out With You"Woke up at 5am today with a hankering for a lollipop. Stumbled out to the living room and grabbed a grape jawbreaker instead, then found Ian's note in my inbox. New Friendship Bracelet comp. Numero tres. I think, ill. Instantly waves of Pink Priest roll over me, drowning me in my comforter. An hour later and I'm on my 5th listen to Coasting's "Hots for Teacher", a long (for Coasting), minimalist romp through a teenage fantasy that proves beyond a doubt that Madison and Fiona are onto something both instantly familiar and totally fresh. Other standouts in the third, and in my opinion, most excellent edition of the Friendship Bracelet comp, include a new Speculator jam, a "Soaked" voyage with Fluker Love, another piece of ambient mist by Boneless and "Lover's Start (Desert Voyages)" by How to Dress Well & cokc dokc, which finds some dude crooning all Sade-like over a muffled lovers rock beat EQ'd to hell on a handheld boombox.

Friendship Bracelet has been killing it lately with lots of hazy, washed out bong jams perfect for summer camp. Not only has Jeff been crushing it on the blog, but his radio show, Auditory Audio, on WMUA, has featured hot jams from the likes of Julian Lynch, Universal Studios Florida and Sun Araw. Not exactly sure what his connection with the Underwater People's crew is but he's definitely getting a boat load of exclusives from peeps like Family Portrait, Sad City and the aforementioned Julian Lynch, whose "Waiting Music" is the acoustic cure all for hangovers, jetlag, broken hearts, broken ribs and terminal boredom. (Lynch is really developing his Mothersbaugh-esque craft and it's mega-exciting, at least to me.) This Friendship Bracelet Club Drop starts and ends with woozy head trips by Dem Hunger, and also features Bobka-favorite Norse Horse up in the middle of this ish. Trying to have fun this weekend?
